15 Budget Friendly & Healthy Snacks for Kids from Aldi

I’ve been an ALDI shopper for years, ever since I was a young child in Germany, and I know you will love these budget friendly snack ideas! None of the snacks on this list require too much effort on my part – a must have when it comes to kids’ snacks.

School will be out soon and the hungry vultures will start circling! I don’t know about you, but I need ready to go snacks for my kids. Snacks that I don’t have prepared in my kitchen. But they also have to healthy and budget friendly. I’m glad to have a local ALDI to help me keep my hungry four fed, and I’m excited to share my top picks for healthy snacks for kids with you today.

Aldi pledged to remove artificial food dyes, msg, trans fat in 2015.

Our eating habits have changed a lot over the years – from pretty healthy, to coupons and price-matching and not so healthy, and back to very healthy again – but I have always shopped at ALDI. I was so pleased earlier this year when I heard that ALDI is committed to removing all artificial food dyes, trans fat, and MSG from the food they sell!

That means I can buy even more of the healthy choices I want for my kids at Aldi! It takes a lot of food to feed my four growing kids, and while I do strive to feed them an overall very healthy diet, I like to do so without breaking the bank. Now my kids are homeschooled so I feed them this stuff all the time. But if your kids are gone most of the day and you’re looking healthy foods to feed them this summer – look no further! ALDI’s got you covered.

Looking for healthy and budget-friendly snacks for kids? Aldi has a great selection of snacks for kids you love, at prices that can't be beat!

I prefer to buy 100% organic, but that’s just not possible all the time, so I prioritize my organic purchases according to the Environmental Working Group’s Dirty 12 and Clean 15 List. I was thrilled when ALDI started stocking organic produce, but I also buy a lot of the cleaner conventional produce ALDI sells. Here’s what I bought this week and the prices I paid. Please keep in mind that prices might vary per location, but this is what I paid in Eastern Iowa.

  1. You have definitely inspired me to start hitting up Aldi more often! We go to sister store Trader Joe’s relatively often, but it sounds like they’ve really stepped up their game at Aldi! Can’t wait to snack on the cheap. 🙂
