My daughter and I also stopped at Fareway yesterday to pick up super cheap boneless, skinless chicken breast. I love Fareway’s meat counter. They’ll package any size you want and wrap for free. Their meat is free of additives (like saline solutions) and best of all, they price match to HyVee.
HyVee has chicken on sale for $1.59 / lb this week. But, because it contains a saline solution, I go to Fareway to Price-Match. See my full price-matching list here.
In all, I got 15.46 lbs. I had them wrap it in together, because I plan to marinate it and then freeze it for easy future meals.
The normal price for the chicken is $2.99 / lb. By watching sales and buying for the lowest price I’ve seen fresh chicken breasts in quite a while, I saved 47% – no coupons needed!
I also picked up some reduced fruit and a few other items on my list while we were there. All told, I spent just over $33 at Fareway.

I also took advantage of that price match chicken! love that!! blueberries, red taped bananas, mangos, and strawberries were a few other on sale/seasonally priced items.
That a great deal, wish they ran chicken deals like this in Chicago.
