Emi, an Independent Senior Educational Consultant for Discovery Toys in Iowa, contacted me a while back about a Giant Pegboard giveaway! I agreed in part because I knew our “baby” would be having surgery soon and I thought she might like a new toy to occupy her during the few months that she will be immobile because of her spica cast. I also have several other Discovery Toys in my homeschooling arsenal and my kids enjoy learning with them so I knew the Giant Pegboard would be a hit.

The Giant Pegboard is fun! It includes idea cards the older kids can use to make shapes, letters, or patterns. There are many ideas for games and all kinds of learning activities. Discovery Toys are are all educational and use “layers of learning,” which means there are several benefits with each one. The nice thing is my older kids also enjoy the pegboard. My 3 and 5 year olds have used it to practice letters and shapes and make patterns. At not quite 18 months, Sara is on the young end for this toy (rated for 19 mos +), but she is still able work on fine motor skills by taking pegs out and putting them back. It occupies her for a few minutes at a time! 
She also has a lot of fun throwing all the pegs overboard for me to pick up. Since she can’t move right now, pick-up falls on me. This is Sara sitting in her spica chair playing with our giant pegboard!
Discovery Toys has everything from baby toys to family games, and their products appeal to all ages. Emi received training from Discovery Toys on special needs such as autism so she can help parents better understand which products might help their children to learn through their disabilities. Many of their products also help with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
Discovery Toys has been around for over 30 years, and is always hiring. They have legitimate opportunities to earn money and free products for your family! I love Discovery Toys! We have many of them in our home. I love the Motorworks vehicles. My boys love taking apart and constructing the vehicles. We also have the stacking cups which can have a million different uses for play. The marble maze is another favorite. I would love to win the giant peg board. I have a daughter who just turned one and this would be perfect. After checking the site another fun toy my kids would like would be the Sunshine Market.

My kids are grown and gone but the child in my life now is Paul. I am Paul’s one-on-one teacher. Paul is a wonderful boy who happens to have autism. he is low functioning and non verbal, but he is learning every day.
I chose the PLAYFUL PATTERNS set as an item that I would like to use when working with Paul. The Giant Pegboard would also be awesome to have. Thanks.
