I love taking pictures. I have a nice camera and take pictures almost every day. But truth be told, I have a lot to learn. I rely too much on my flash. I’m not very creative sometimes, and often my pictures, especially pictures of food, just don’t look that great. The more I look at other blogs, the more I realize I need to get to work. As I look back on many of my pictures of food, I’m really quite embarrassed. I have to figure out how to make my pictures look as good as the food I make TASTES. Because let me tell you, I can cook some good food.

I was so excited on Monday to start a Food Photography with Sony Course offered by Social Fabric at their SoFab U! When I saw the email come through offering the class, I jumped at the opportunity. And I’m glad I did and was thrilled when I got the acceptance email.

I know I need to work on lighting, staging and telling a better story with my pictures. I hope I can learn all of those things in my class and I am excited to start learning!
Prepare to be amazed!

I’m looking forward to reading of your progress. I look at what I think of as the ‘big-dawg’ cooking blogs and marvel at their pictures. I’m interested in learning more (with that always elusive maybe-one-day-a-cooking-blog-of-my-own dancing in the back of my mind). Have fun!
