Yesterday, while much of the state was enjoying a much needed rain, we were hanging out at the pool, because we got a big fat nothing. It better rain soon, or I might start stealing water from the pool…
It’s been almost exactly one year since my baby started walking and we realized something was really wrong. And so began our journey with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. It’s been a really crazy journey. I hate everything about DDH – except one thing. I’m so glad we went through her awful cast in the winter so she doesn’t have to miss out at the pool. After what she’s been through, I love seeing my little girl enjoying her summer now.
Swimming is one of the best therapies for DDH babies. We don’t go as much as we should, but when we’re at the pool, I love that Sara LOVES it, too.
She really was having a great time, despite the frown!
Lest the other kids think I don’t care about them…here are a couple pictures of my older kiddos enjoying themselves, too. They’ll gladly use Sara’s DDH as an excuse to head to the pool!
Take heart, DDH readers. If your baby is in a cast, there is hope! And water on the other side – drought or no drought. Lots and lots of water.
Happy Friday, Friends. Enjoy your weekend.
