Our actual 4th of July {day} didn’t quite go as planned. It was super hot – one of the hottest days on record so far this summer out here in Eastern Iowa. AND OUR AC BROKE – yes I’m yelling!! Ugh…Luckily, we were able to cool down a bit with a tasty TCBY frozen yogurt treat from an air conditioned Walmart…their selection of #TCBY frozen yogurt hit the nail on the head!

We first tried TCBY frozen yogurt this past spring – with a Welcome Spring Party! It was another unseasonably warm day on that first day of spring. {A harbinger of things to come, perhaps??} That day we tried about every flavor they had and my kids fell in love with TCBY Frozen Yogurt, especially the Strawberry  Swirl.

For this treat, I wanted something simple, so we stuck with Vanilla Bean – a classic flavor for a classy treat! One of these days I want to try the Chocolate-Chocolate {which I’ve seen elsewhere but isn’t available yet at my local Walmart}. I had to do some fast talking with my kids to only walk out of the store with vanilla…but I managed! Hehe. ;-) You can see pictures of our shopping trip at my Google+ Album.

The heat was a good excuse to cool off with a fun frozen-yogurt treat! I like to maximize fruit, so we had a lot of  yummy red strawberries and blue- and black- berries layered with a taste of Vanilla Bean TCBY Frozen Yogurt. It made for the perfect Red, White, & Blue combo! The Vanilla Bean was a great choice to pair with the fresh berries.

We had a lot of fun making this simple treat, but even more fun eating it!

It didn’t last long! But it sure was yummy.

A little sparkler fun rounded out the afternoon.

And finally we watched fireworks from our air conditioned car… but I didn’t get any pictures.

Thanks, #TCBY and #CBias for helping us stay cool on a super hot day. And belated Happy Birthday, USA!
