I’m working on my monthly menu for November and will post it next Monday. This is what’s left on my menu for October and what I’m thinking for this week.
Breakfasts ~
- Maple Pumpkin Granola
- German Pancakes
- Muffins (extra for the freezer)
- French Toast (on homemade bread)
- Homemade Toaster Waffles (from my freezer)
Lunches ~
- Bean burritos (homemade tortillas from my freezer)
- Leftovers
- PB & J
- Meat & Cheese sandwiches (salami from my freezer)
- Tuna sandwiches
Dinners ~ {from my Pinterest October Meal Board}
- Balsamic Chicken
- Eggs N Hash
- Slow Cooker Beef Stew
- Bacon Beans & Taters Bake
- Family Movie & Pizza Night
On Halloween, I’m making the Beef Stew. Our family tradition is to invite Grandma and Grandpa over for a hearty soup and then all go trick-or-treating together – or sometimes Grandma and Grandpa stay here and pass out candy and we hit the streets. My hope is that eating a solid meal before trick-or-treating helps curb candy eating. I don’t know that it works, but it’s a good thought. Since Grandma & Grandpa live in the country, they never see trick-or-treaters. This lets them see our kids in their costumes and gets them to help out with the craziness that is Halloween. It’s a win-win in my book!
Do you have any Halloween traditions?

Thanks for the shout-out with the Bacon, Beans and Tater Bake! I’m glad the gown-ups liked them. It’s coming on time to get another fifty pound bag of potatoes… Or maybe not. Azure sells ‘em in smaller units.
I got 50 lbs of #2 yukon golds last year at an Amish produce auction for under $15!! I was hoping to grow enough of my own this year to avoid needing to buy them, but I only got about 2 bushels and they are already 3/4 gone.
I guess I’ll be buying from Azure this winter.
