3 Things 1.14.17: 2017 Personal Goals; Video Kitchen Tour; Ninja Coffee Bar

3-things-1 2017 Blogging Goals

I’m not the best about making goals, but each year I do try. This year, I want to share with you a few of my blogging goals so you can help keep me accountable. 🙂

  1. Add in video content. Do you know I have a YouTube account? I do, and it even has 12 subscribers. LOL! Head over here to check it out as it does actually have several videos uploaded. In 2017, I plan to do a whole lot more videos. I’ve been playing around with Instagram stories and enjoy the little notes several of you have left me about them. Instagram stories are fun and also short lived. They disappear after 24 hours and are similar to SnapChat, from what I’ve been told. My video goals include sharing more instagram stories and facebook lives as well. I’ve been practicing on my personal friends and almost feel confident enough to give the lives a try. I also plan to share more recipes of videos.
  2. My second blogging goal is to stick to a consistent weekly schedule and have content scheduled in advance. So far in 2017 I have been pretty good about sticking to the plan. Recipes / kitchen tips / real food eating on Mondays, Gardening/ Homestead on Tuesdays, Food / Family / Travel on Wednesdays & Thursdays, Free ebooks on Fridays, 3 Things on Saturdays, and Grammar on Sundays. I won’t have posts up every single day of the week, but that’s the general outline I want to follow.
  3. Third, I am revamping my email lists. People come to my blog for a lot of different reasons and the people who come for grammar might not really care about my chickens or food posts. I’m working on splitting the list so people only get the content they want to learn about. Right now, I still have one main list that sends out a weekly recap of what I’ve posted each Friday.  You’ll get one email on Friday afternoons, and maybe an occasional email from time to time if I just have something amazing to share.
  4. And finally, I would love to hear more from you! I’m working hard to create content you want to reply to because blogging can get a little lonely when no one interacts with me. So please, if you like the content, drop me a note from time to time!

3-things-2 Video Tour – First Floor of the Passive-Aggressive House

In keeping with my first goal to do more video, I’m sharing this video tour I made of the first floor of our house! I need to work out some kinks for future videos, but better done than not, right? I hope you enjoy it, and the next tour will be better. 🙂

You can learn more about the passive house concept I mentioned in the video in a blog post I wrote here and also in another youtube video I made.

  3-things-3 Ninja Coffee Bar

We really like our coffee at the Passive-Aggressive House, so much so that my husband built a coffee bar area in my pantry. When the pantry was first finished last summer, we put our coffee pot in the pantry and started using it. But it didn’t work at all because the water had to be poured into the machine by the coffee pot and there just isn’t enough room there to do that. After making mess after mess with water, I finally gave up and took the coffee maker back into the kitchen. My husband Dan didn’t like that very much.

Well, the nice folks at Ninja sent me their new Ninja Coffee Bar right before Christmas and it is amazing! We love this coffee maker. Not only does it fit in the coffee bar area very nicely, but it doesn’t make a mess because we fill the water tank up in the sink and then just place it on the machine. No dumping water. And, it’s an all around amazing coffee machine. It brews hot AND cold, pot AND single serve. It also froths milk and can brew directly into a tumbler. And it’s just pretty. I really love the way it looks as much as the way it functions. If you’re looking for a new coffee maker, I definitely recommend the Ninja Coffee Bar.

And that’s the 3 Things post! I hope you enjoyed the video tour of the first floor of our home. Come back next week for another video tour. If you have a preference on what I should share in the next video, let me know. Your choices are upstairs, basement, or master bedroom area.  Have a great weekend! 🙂

  1. I loved seeing your first floor tour – what a fun space! I’m seriously thinking induction for any new place we eventually get, so it’s good to know it’s working well for you. Awesome goals – gotta work on the video part, too. 🙂

  2. I love those windows too! I want them for our tiny house!

Also, love, love, LURVE!!! the southern windows. Absolutely beautiful. I may still love the barn more…but maybe by only a smidgen. 😉
